Associate Degree in Computer Science (1 year).

March 98   -   Company of the Year Award: - I was the President of one of seven companies (As part of

             Junior Achievement) to successfully complete 16 weeks of business in the real world, with a
             profit of CI \\$1500.00

July 98       -    Honours Diploma:- Completion of High School Education with excellent academic results.

Computer Skills

I have been using MS 97 Microsoft Office packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access & Power Point to produce
reports, essays & presentations. I have a good knowledge of PC hardware and peripherals. During my placement
carried out tasks, which include upgrading the system memory, changing faulty disk drives and formatting hard disk.
I have practical knowledge of programming applications such as Pascal, C++, Visual Basic & Java. I use MS-DOS
to alter system files and to fix file structure problems on floppy diskette. I am very familiar with Windows 98, NT, ME
and 2000 Operating systems, some of which I use for my daily task. I also have basic knowledge and understanding
of Unix and Linux. I have gained experience in Novell Netware during my placement. EndNote 4, Dreamweaver 3
Fireworks 4, Citrix ICA Client, Disk Keeper, Acrobat Reader 4 are some of the software I am familiar with.
Work Experience
August 00 - present                                                  Position:- Student Computer Officer                                                                                 Organisation:- London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine
Responsibilities included:
  • Provide first line support for departmental staff and research students relating to problems with hardware and software on the desktop.
  • Provide departmental computing staff with assistance in the installation of new hardware and software.
  • Maintain and develop the departmental equipment database
  • Ensure the safty and security of departmental computing equipments.

  • Extra Curricular Activity

    Interact Club:-  This is a project of Rotary Club of Grand Cayman Central. The club's main objective is to provide
    community services. I was the treasurer for the period of 97-98 and was responsible for managing the finances of the
    club. I also participated in organising social and fund raising events.

    Junior Achievement:-   Junior Achievement programme is designed to help students learn about industry and as a
    small group we started a company, producing a marketable product and after a 16-week period the of company was
    liquidated. I was part of the programme for two years first as Vice President of Finance and then as President of one
    of the companies.

    Interests

    I am a student member of The British Computer Society, which I joined in 1998. I enjoy playing Tennis, Badminton,
    Sailing and Snorkelling. My hobbies are collecting stamps and coins. I also enjoy working on my personal web site
    adding new features, links and graphics.

    Personal Profile

    I am confident, enthusiastic and hard working student with experience in different types of employment. My work
    experience at various levels of a company has developed many skills, including leadership skills, working under pressure,
    meeting deadlines, and motivating group members and implementing practical solutions. Presentations and involvement in
    various committees have further developed my strong interpersonal and communication skills and I am keen to build on
    my existing skills and also learn new things.
